Ami looked in and smacked her forehead. Groaning, she shook her head. "I wasn't done with her. . ." she said. "She still had some open wounds. Tie them and clean them tonight. If there's any sign of infection, drag her back, conscious or not. I don't want to lose that girl."

Jack nodded. "Thanks Ami," he said again. "For everything." He smiled once, but then it disappeared again.

Ami shrugged. "It's nothing, Jack. And I know I don't have to say it, but. . . " She looked out the door, and sighed. "Take care of her." She gave Jack a nod, and turned back to her quarters, smirking. "You, I don't care about as much."

Jack rolled his eyes and grinned. "You know you want my body," he teased. "Otherwise you wouldn't torment me near as much."

Ami turned around, grinning. "Not for the reasons you think. I just want to study your brain. I'll even do a report on it: A Study of the Neanderthal."

"Whatever you say, Ami. Until next time?"

She hesitated before nodding. "Yeah," she said. "Until next time, Jacky-boy."

"Let's hope it's not too soon," he whispered before walking over to his bike and jamming the keys into the ignition.

Ami sighed. "Yeah, better not hope for that." She shut the door to her quarters and shut off the light.

Longinus stood on the parapet overlooking the harsh lands to the west. He noticed what appeared to be a human flitting across the field at first, confusing Longinus. He leaned over the edge and focused, looking for any conspicuous characteristics of the creature he suspected was really out there. Eventually he noticed the figure take a leap no human could ever possibly perform in real life.
"Kevin," he said, "care for a little bit of fun? It looks like we've got one of our friends-of-the-night taking a brisk walk out there."

Kevin smiled. True to his tendency of few words, he replied, "After you."

Longinus grinned, leaping from the castle's wall. "Don't dally too long or else there'll be nothing left for you to do!" He called out. Longinus extended his spear and glided down toward the ground below.

Kevin shook his head. He leapt up, climbing high into the sky. As he rose, he clamped his jaw onto his special blade, and took a dagger in each hand. Folding his wings, he dove toward the unknown being. Opening his wings at the last possible moment, he landed smoothly near the creature, yet far enough to allow Loginus his chance.

Longinus swooped in toward the intruder. With a quick underhanded thrust he tossed the spear at the silhouette on the ground. He slowed his descent with a grin on his face. "Almost too easy."
Suddenly he noticed a flash of metal as a large circular glint of steel knocked his heralded spear aside with little difficulty. The figure crouched into the dirt, one arm holding the halo of blades behind his body while the other grasped several small stars. What is he, a ninja or something?!

Anthony quickly looked between the two light angels, taking in the scene. It doesn't look like the one has anything but the spear, but the other one has a few more sharp objects than I care for. He shifted his balance further lower, prepared for the impending attack.
