"Understood," he replied, his hands slightly in the air, mocking fear. "Still, that is distincly human behavior. The mockery. The attack style is too, if you ignore the speed."

"Yeah...but the speed, man. He was doing rolls in the air faster than I can, and I have wings!" Longinus shifted uneasily. "And I don't like the bladed thing he had. If it wouldn't have been on a chain, I think one of us might have actually died. He was toying with us. If he was a human, he needs to be taken care of. Immediately."

"Be he human or vampire, he attacked us. You're right in the want to destroy him." Kevin leaned back a little, then said, "Tell me how you think it should be done?"

Longinus smiled. He slammed the butt of his spear on the floor, extending the point straight up into the air. He removed his hand, allowing the weapon to quiver in its upright position. "Are you familiar with the works of William Golding?"

Relaxing, he smiled and said, "Enlighten me."

Longinus shook his head. "Brush up on your literature, Kevin. I'm not going to spell the world out for you. All I'll say is that I'm glad my spear has a point at each end."

Oh my goodness you are such a dork Pez. I can't believe you brought LOTF into this.
~!!~ "Cass?" Jack called, trying to find a volume between whispering and 'here-I-am-ripe-for-killing' level. "Damn that girl," he growled.

Cass eyed her prey silently. Hm, she thought. Distracted. Good. She grinned to herself before she pounced from her perch in the tall oak.

Jack fell to the ground with a resounding thud, although feeling the familiar weight on his back brought him only annoyance instead of anger. "Cass," he growled, his voice muffled by the grass beneath him.

"You were distracted and offguard again," Cass coldly said. "Be glad it was me and not someone else."

"I was looking for you! Maybe if you didn't get lost so easily—" Jack shut up as his mouth was acquainted with a large amount of dirt.

"Was that a short joke?" she asked quietly.

Cass cuffed the back of his head and stepped nimbly from his back. "Maybe if you didn't make them all the time," she said crouching down by him, "I wouldn't assume so."

Jack coughed as dirt flew out of his mouth. "Well, if they weren't so easy to make. . ." He stood up and brushed the dust off him.
