Sabine sighed as she trudged through the halls of her high school. Another day, another struggle. Some slammed into her, almost knocking her straight off her feet. Her books didn't fare so well.
Swallowing anger as cruel laughter echoed from the prick, she bent down to pick up her books, her long blonde hair falling over her shoulder.
"I don't think I'll make it through the rest of the day at this rate," she grumbled to herself. The binding on her chemistry book was almost torn free, as she learned when she picked it up.
With a dejected huff of air, she straightened up and almost ran into someone, again.

A tall boy with a shock of blond hair hanging in his face looked down at Sabine. "You forgot this one," he said handing her a notebook. He smiled with perfectly straigh teeth, slightly stained from coffee.

She gave him a forced smile. "Thank you," she said, her voice genuine, despite her actions. She placed it atop her chemistry book and nodded to him before trudging down the hall to said class.
Weirdo, she thought to herself.

The boy glances around. Satisfied that no one's paying him any mind, he loses a few inches, his hair turns to a spiky bright blue, and his teeth are pearly white, if not a little crooked. He walks up to the girl. "Hey," he says, now at her eye level. "Don't we have the same Algebra class?"

Sabine blinked absently. "I don't know. I'm never awake in that class," she bluntly said before dodging the boy, continuing toward class.

Drat. He sighed and gradually changed into a thin ginger-kid of middling height. He followed Sabine into the Chem class they shared.

With a yawn, Sabine sat down and opened her book, finishing her last problem before the bell rang.
A chair shifted next to her, and she turned her head, glaring at whosoever would disturb her.

James pulled the chair out as quietly as possible. Ah geez, that Sabine girl again, he thought.
"Sorry." he muttered with little conviction, and took out his iPod from the pouch in his sweatshirt.
I swear, we need seating charts for this class he thought.

Sabine growled slightly, but otherwise made a strong intent of ignoring the spec beside her.
She just had to balance out this last equation, and she'd be home free!
The bell rang of course, and Mr. Fedner stormed in, angry as usual. "Pass in your papers!" he demanded.
Sabine sighed, and watched another paper go up to be trashed.

James stared quietly off to the clock. only 50 minutes left
Mr Fedner collected the papers and placed them on his desk, rifling quickly through the stack. "James!" He exclaimed. "Where is your paper? And why do you have earbuds on while you're in my classroom?"
"Sorry" James mumbed again. He took the earbuds out and placed them gently back in the pouch.
"Well?" Mr. Fedner asked.
"...My Dog ate it?" James replied without raising his head an inch.

Sabine grinned, despite herself.

Dameon yawned, his jaws gaping like a cat. He blinked and was slightly confused by the swath of darkness that engulfed his view. His chest felt warm from the sun. Sighing, he sat up and pulled his beanie up and looked around.
Ha. I'm guessing school's started already. He shrugged. Late to class again, by... Oh Jesus, two class periods. He swallowed the last of the Amp in his hand, crushed it, and tossed the can onto the grass. Throwing his bag over his shoulder, Dameon walked into the school.

The hallways smoked with a malignant aura, the students' distaste and teachers' frustration spilling into the passageways from beneath the doors. Dameon yawned again and kicked the door of his locker, the unconventional combo opening the door with a creak. He shuffled through the mess and finally located his chemistry book, wear and tear but miraculously in one piece. He shoved it in his bag, slammed the door shut, and ghosted his way to the classroom.
Mr. Fedner was collecting papers, giving sharp words to his irresponsible students, and even prying some from lifeless fingers. His agitation was like a sword to the chest. Dameon was so glad he'd finished the assignment yesterday in class. He sighed and opened the door as expertly as he could, and made his way over to his desk.
Why do I have to have the seat all the way over by the windows?

Mr. Fedner's head whipped around, fixing his glare upon the black haired boy who just entered the room. "It's nice to see you, Mr. Addo. I'm assuming you had a nice nap again? Where is your assignment?"

"I turned it in yesterday, Mr. Fedner," he replied, taking his seat and throwing his bag on the table.
